Obtention
|
Cetone. Composed of two alpha- and beta- Ionone isomers. Also exists
in a natural state in rose tea, freesia, osmanthus.

Fabrication
|
Ionones were first obtained in 1893 by Tiemann and Krüger as a
by-product of the synthesis of Irone, the odoriferous component
of violet.
