Lancôme and perfumes, an unforgettable history.

Armand Petitjean, perfumer and cosmetician, dedicated his life to his dream : to give woman that which is most beautiful.
For her, he created Lancôme.
For her, he chose the rose.
For her, he gave life to unforgettable perfumes.

Armand Petitjean's passion for perfumes inspires him to perform a sensational gesture : in 1935, he launches his brand with five great perfumes. Audacious ? Yes, but Armand Petitjean studied with François Coty, the "father of 20th century luxury perfumery".

"Tropiques", "Tendres Nuits", "Kypre" and "Bocages", rare perfumes, will be followed by many others, amongst which figures the prestigious "Magie" of the 50's. Almost all of the flasks are designed by a great artist : Georges Delhomme.

The flasks designed by Georges Delhomme for Lancôme are much sought after today :
- The Fish-Moon flask for the Cachet Bleu eau de cologne (1935)
- The flask whose stopper is engraved with a blooming jasmine flower used to contain various perfumes (1935)
- The amphora for "Marrakech" which now reaches incredible estimates (1947).

Trésor

Trésor alone symbolizes all the dimensions of eternal femininity : a fragrance of a unique harmony, an infinitely rich imagination, a world of precious refinement and finally a woman more woman than any other, loving, liberated, serene and happy…

Trésor lies at the heart of Lancôme. Not much time was needed for Trésor, created in 1990, to become a top-ranking item in the luxury world. Its olfactory personality, the purity of its flask, its richly evocative name, were in full bloom from the moment of its creation… Its natural generosity did the rest making it the tender accomplice to women who know how to render each moment precious.
