This pulpit has an asymmetrical decoration, since only the ornate side is seen when entering a church. It comes from Mons (Var) and was designed for procession days when the crowd was too large to fit inside a chapel. The pulpit was placed in front of the door so that the priest could give his sermon to the faithful gathered there.
