Museum of the Art and History of Provence - acquired by the Association of Museums
Inv. 98 202
In a traditionally Catholic region like the eastern Provence area, faith is officially manifested by high masses for the congregation, where the priest uses richly embroidered ornaments and precious vases, chalices and ciboria in silver or vermeil.
This ciborium, signed by Sauver Bartel, goldsmith, comes from the Ursuline convent at Riez (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence)
