Broom or Spanish broom

Spartium junceum L.

Fabaceae family

Originating from Europe, the broom used by perfumers was Spanish broom. Wildflower is a Mediterranean shrub, which was harvested in Esterel and has never been cultivated. Broom flowers appear from May to June and release a delicious fragrance. However, their flavour deteriorates and changes once they are picked. Something concrete still manages to be extracted a with notes evoking Provencal honey.
