Rose Geranium

Pelargonium graveolens L’Her.

Geraniaceae family

In the sixteenth century, the Dutch botanist Paul Herman brought the geranium back from South Africa. But the leaves and stems of rose geranium were only distilled much later to produce an oil that smells like much that of the rose. The whole plant has a slightly minty dewy scent. The essential oil is floral, dewy, powerful, sulphide, peppery, minty.
